George W. Jones

My personal story

Life, Faith, Airman

My name is George W. Jones, and I am a devoted apologist with a strong commitment to biblical scholarship. I bring extensive experience in exegetical studies, which has allowed me to cultivate a profound understanding of Scripture, particularly emphasizing theology and apologetics.

My academic journey has involved not just theoretical exploration but also practical application of the historical, cultural, and linguistic contexts of biblical texts. This approach enables me to engage with Scripture nuanced and critically, shaping my understanding of key theological concepts and the experiences of biblical authors. My work is about understanding and applying this knowledge to defend the Christian faith in both academic and public settings.

My commitment to religious education is unwavering, as evidenced by my Bachelor’s degree in Religious Education from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. There, I engaged in coursework covering biblical studies, Systematic Theology, and faith-based pedagogy. I developed expertise in scriptural interpretation and hermeneutical approaches through in-depth studies of Old and New Testament exegesis.

I continued my studies at Regent University’s School of Theology, Virginia Beach, Virginia, earning a Master of Divinity in Practical Theology with a concentration in Church and Ministry Ethics. This program deepened my theological knowledge and provided a moral framework for addressing contemporary ethical challenges. My studies in church ministry enhanced my leadership skills, equipping me to serve diverse communities. Additionally, my training in Hebrew and Greek strengthened my analytical abilities and understanding of complex theological themes.

Serving as a United States Air Force Chaplain, culminating in a 36-year career, gave me firsthand experience applying biblical principles within a mission-driven environment. In this role, I used my biblical scholarship and apologetics to provide spiritual guidance, counsel, and support to a diverse community of service members and their families. This experience refined my communication skills, broadened my appreciation for diverse cultural perspectives, and strengthened my ability to address them through a biblical worldview.

Continuing my academic proficiency, I am pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Theology and Apologetics, which I anticipate completing in May 2025. This program enables me to delve into the intersections of theology, philosophy, and the defense of faith, equipping me to engage meaningfully in contemporary theological discourse with both intellectual depth and practical insight.

Lastly, upon earning this degree, I plan to further my theological education and ministry work by pursuing a PhD in Applied Apologetics in August 2025. This will allow me to continue seeking knowledge to empower Christians to know their faith and be able to defend when they are called to engage in “Cultural Wars,” which seek to cancel the Christian voice (1 Peter 3:15).
